Why You Should Not Use A Mallet to Activate Your Tuning Fork

There are several manufacturers on Amazon offering mallets with their forks. These mallets cost about 3 cents to make and they are included so that you think you are getting something for free. What they are really doing is teaching you to limit your use and experience with tuning forks.

Using a mallet means that you can only use one fork at a time. The power of sound healing comes from using several unweighted tuning forks at once to create harmonics or, to place two weighted forks on the body at the same time. 

Also, the mallets you'll see online are too light weight to create a solid tone. You will get a stronger and longer lasting tone if you tap the fork against something rather than tapping something against a tuning fork.

Put the puck in your pocket and tap the fork(s) against it. 

The tuning fork activator offered at Omnivos is a hockey puck with an Om symbol. Many people like that but if you have a hockey puck at home...just saying!
