Selecting a Singing Bowl

When selecting a crystal singing bowl, there are a few things you'll want to consider. Crystal singing bowls are selected by chakra or its associated musical note.

For selection assistance, feel free to email or call 877.895.6609.

Selecting a musical note or chakra

Consider which musical note or chakra you would like to work with. A chart of notes and chakras is below followed by audio clips of some of these notes.
High CAbove Crown F# Thymus
BCrown F Heart
A#Pineal E Solar Plexus
AThird Eye D Sacral
G#Zeal Point C# Sexual
GThroat C Root

Each bowls has its own unique sound. Here are some samples for you to compare different sizes and notes. Please be aware that it is very difficult to capture the radiant sound of the bowls and almost impossible to reproduce the vibratory resonant effect that they have on the body here online.

Next, you'll want to select the size of the bowl. As a rule, the smaller the bowl, the higher the higher the pitch. If you are sensitve or become a little ungrounded with high pitches (or if you are not sure), then we suggest you start with a 9", 10", 11" and 12" size bowl.

Crystal singing bowls are tuned as closely to the actual note as possible but the nature of the bowl will cause the tone fluctuate, almost circle around a note. If you require an exact note, then during the selection process, choose "true tone". People who require a true tone bowl are typically musicians or those conducting research. If you are using the bowls for meditations, healing or other therapies, the true tones are not necessary.

If you are uncertain as to which note or size to choose, give us a call at 877.895.6609. We'll ask you a few questions about your intentions and make some recommendations.
